The hotel I am employed by uses a Mitel Superconsole 1000 model phone system to log and bill our guests for phone calls. However for the last couple days there has been a "Minor Alarm" message on the display screen. What I need to know is: What can cause this alarm? Is there a way to prevent this? How does one acknowledge this alarm and turn it off?

The alarm could be just about anything, from a wake-up not answered, a phone off the hook, a port failure,etc...I think you need to go into programming to clear alarms. Do you know any passwords or we could try the default password of 1000.

I am not sure I went about it that proper way, but I figured out how to reboot the system before finding my way to an obvious button like "Turn alarm off". It did reset the the terminal and remove the minor alarm button. Thanks for the p-word.

Ugh. Rebooting the system was not the way to go.
According to what I have found in this system, the problem is due to "Bay 1 Lines" I found that in the logs. I also found "Number of line apperances in bay 1 is: 15"

I really hate to bother you with this, but does this make any sense to you? If you can give me some idea as to how to fix this, it would be great.

It is probably a dead CO/trunk line. Do you sometimes get dead air when dialing out?

Not to my knoweldge. I have had several occurences where the phone has rang, I answer, but no one replies. I have learned that the party calling can hear me, but I can not hear them.

Check the CO at the Dmark, it could be on the providers end. Hook up your butt set and have some one call the number and see if you have the same problem (caller hears you but you can't hear them)

Hmm, I am not sure who did what to the phone, but the minor alarm is nolonger displayed on the console. I will ask my co-workers, and post how it was removed.
