I inherited a customer with a mitel SX-50 which blows Trunk cards at a rate of about 2 a year the customer has replaced the back plane once and the power supply twice in the past year. Has anyone seen this behavior before and what could it possibly be.

TIA
Don

I'm not sure. Make sure you don't use that slot any more or has this happened in different slots?

Is the system properly grounded? Check it w/ a ohm meter to verify.

Was the backplane(MCII or I) & power supply replaced to try to fix the problem, or did they go bad?

Hiya,
I would suggest that you check your loop current. It MUST be between 28-32 milliamps for the SX-50. If it is too high it will sieze the trunk and not release, sometimes blowing the port. If it is too low you will not be able to sieze the trunk at all.
Just my 2 cents.
