last excell one I did was tie onyx where the strips where straight and buttons separte but evan those where a PITA with either a razor knife or paper cutter . I do a lot of partner and I cant see how you would cut it out of a solid sheet .

For Partner, BUY the label sheets from Avaya, then run them through the printer. 4 extensions at a time.

For Legend and Magix, print on plain paper, and cut with a ROTARY paper cutter. 8 to 12 to 16 stations per sheet, depending on the model.

I use excel to make phone-set labels and labels for 110 blocks. Coloring the background on cells makes Fire, alarm and other special circuits stand out. A couple of times I've used MS Publisher to print a half-shade company logo for background then run it through the printer again to make the labels.

I get the desi sheets from www.overlaypro.com they have the software also but I have more options using Excel.

I have a customer that does arts and crafts, last week when there I saw a programmable cutting machine that would work great for making desi labels, I plan on contacting the co. and see if they could make templates for phone labels it would open up a whole new market for them.

Gee, I don't know but at only pennies a desi from Overlaypro I can't see why anyone would go through the trouble of rolling their own. Then there's Desi.com who even gives you free software.

I'm sure that adding the cost of supplying the desi on to the price of a new phone isn't going to break the bank. If customers want them redone charge then for the time and desi or just refer them to Desi.com. This shouldn't be a non-profit endeavor and it does add that finishing touch.

I suppose I could see using Excel if you could do something that the maufacturer's software can't but come on. Don't know about you but I have better, more profitable things to do than screwing with desi's.

Hi. I'm Richard and I use Excel...

Works good for all my Avaya 74xx, 84xx, and 64xx phones. As an on-site tech I had the time available. Created templates and keep every users desi on file. I like the flexibility it offers. If there is a change I just email the user a new version, then they have a little arts n crafts project.

I will agree though on something like a Partner. frown

My wife has that Wishblade cutter, like what you mentioned metelcom. It would work, but like Hal said, why would you bother when companies like Desi and Overlay have done the work for you. Even the 110 blocks can be done on Desi.

I only do them in house for the original install using desi overlays. After that I give them the desi.com website. I can't make any money on them and customers would have me re doing them with every new hire.

I have run across phones that desi and overlay don't supply. I never knew that I could get a die made from desi, how much is that?
