Sounds like trunk equip. number 73 is bad. It's either a bad card, or more than likely a bad CO line.
When you reset the alarms by dialing the *32, you're not fixing anything, you're just masking the problem. Everytime someone tries to use that trunk the alarm will 'beep'.
Leave it busy until you diagnose and fix the problem.

KattaKilla, FYI, you really need to start a new thread, you are piggybacking onto a thread that is 2 and one-half years old.

That said, in all probability, if your alarm code is truly identical, it probably is a bad outside phone line. Way more common that a bad trunk port in the system. If the problem started immediately after thunderstorm, It may be the trunk port in the system. OR, if it started after changes in phone service, programming/installation errors. How to fix it? Call your local Mitel technician. Meanwhile, when the alarm comes on, push and hold alarm button and write down displayed information. Then release button and DO NOT DIAL *31 OR *31. The alarm light will remain lit, but the ringing will stop.

the boss decided that it would cost alot less to fix on monday so i have to put up w/ it for 8 hour shifts all weekend. was hoping for something here to prevent that.

Cant clear the alarm

A) the code is the exact same for the first alarm
B) if you press the alarm and leave it, it rings again with "74" instead of 73
C) if you leave it again it will do the same for "75"
D) if you do it yet again and leave it, it says eqp busy and anyone calling the hotel gets a busy signal.

the only way we have to receive outside calls is to clear the alarm every few minutes all day

also, immediately following the alarm ring, the lnd1 rings as well, when you answer, its dial tone.

Something is busying out trunks for you. First thing to check is trunk 73. In the phone closet, where the SX50 box lives, try testing that line at the demarc. If it tests good, your problem is on the system, and you'll need a tech to fix it.

If the line tests bad at the demarc with your CPE disconnected, then you'll need to call the Telco and get the line fixed.

Now, consider mentioning to your boss that this SX-50 is probably 20-25 years old, and while it's a credit to Mitel that these things still work after that long at nearly 100% uptime, it's really time to consider an upgrade or replacement.

Probably not the system with 3 trunks failing. Any construction nearby or digging on the property, maybe sprinkler system work? Phone bill unpaid for 2-3 months?

Still worthwhile to mention an upgrade to your boss for the 5-year-plan or Capital Expenses plan. SX-50s are great, but you're on borrowed time.
