One of our employees has a voicemail message that used to be her speaking and telling the caller to leave a message, etc. Now, when you call the number or extension, it is an automated woman's voice saying that (the employee's name spoken in her own voice) is not available. Then it prompts the caller to press 1 to leave a voicemail, and press two to page them, and press zero for more options. When you press 0, it puts you through to the original voicemail of the employee telling you to leave a message. I made sure auto attendant, call forward to voicemail, and DND were disabled, but the problem still persists. HELP!!!

Thank You.

Look into the persons voicemail box to see they have a greeting recorded. Then see if they activated the park and page option in thier vmail box. Welcome to the board!

I went into the user's voicemail and they did have a greeting recorded - I erased it. Then I did CALL1 + *47 + 3...after the *47 it made the dial tone sound twice, and then when I pressed 3 nothing happened. I hit SPK to hang up. When I tried calling the employee and it went to voicemail, the automated announcement was the same, except that this time instead of the employee's voice saying her name, the automated voice said the extension number...any more suggestions???

The three things on CTL to check and remember:

1) (G)reeting

2) (R)ecord (N)ame

3) (OP)tions (S)ecurity code.

I thing the Vanguard mail has 3 greetings for each user. If this user did not record anything for greeting 2 or 3 and they toggled to one of them than the system will play the defaulted greeting

Okay, new development - our local phone guys came out yesterday and fixed this voicemail problem...he said that it was because of the paging feature - the paging was not enabled, but there was a greeting recorded in it so it gave callers the option of paging the employee or going to their voicemail. So the voicemail is fixed now. BUT!!! There's a new problem. Now when I press the key to call that employee (my co-worker)'s extension, it beeps twice and then I am talking to her and she hasnt even picked up the phone...it's not on speaker phone or anything, just my voice coming out of her phone. It doesnt even ring. How can I fix this new problem?

Thank You.

823 on the deskset should force intercom ringing. 821 will enable the behavior you just described.

You can also set it up using the soft keys on a display phone

[prog][int] will take you to:
"Set Calling Type"
[Ring] or [Voic]

I think you set the default behavior in programming mode 0401.
