Guys, back to this inherited MICS with VM.... a user wants to change extensions, but wants to keep her vm greeting the same and retain messages/settings. Is this at all possible, or do i tell her stop being stupid and just rerecord ? (I would prefer not to have to do that she is a senior partner in the law firm )

Set up a new mbox and tell her to rerecord it! Tell her it is not possible. Why does she want to change her extension anyways. It takes 2 hole minutes to record your greetings. Wow, I know that might take some time out of her fun in the sun.

Two girls later and I'm back.....lol...been gone a while but see same faces still here. Lol

Why don't you just move her phone.

Highly NOT recommended unless you're ready for your pension.

Lawyers don't only charge by the hour...they also charge by the minute...think about it...lost revenue

Now, you're talking & do it at the block, w/o using Auto Re-Locate...

If you hate Nortel, then let someone who likes it and knows what they are doing work on it. Stick to Avaya.

You can change the extension number within a mailbox. But you can not change the mailbox number itself.

You say she wants to change her extension. Keep her mailbox number the same, change her extension associated with the mailbox, and she won't know the difference unless she tries to check her messages remotely. Then she's got to remember her old mailbox number and password. I try to give people the pros and cons of what they ask for and let them make an informed decision. That way they can't say they didn't know and I can bill them for making the requested change and and bill them fixing it.
