I have a CICS running 7.0, using the built in ATA for the fax. I programmed hotline to dial "external" with "9F78". With my buttset in-line I can hear the fax get an outline but the CO isn't getting the proper digits (missing some) because I get a recording telling me to dial the proper area code.

When I remove hotline and dial 9 and the outgoing fax number manually, it works fine.

What am I missing?

I've found that I need 2 or 3 pauses to make it work.

Well I did try the 9 followed by two pauses, but not three.

I assumed that wasn't the problem because it appeared the first digit of the area code wasn't going out (thus causing the recording I was hearing) so I figured I had too much of a pause.

I didn't have my digit grabber with me to watch what was being dialed but I may have to go back with it.

Using hotline all you need is the pause. In the hotline programming you're already tell the system to use a line, pool or route. The 9 you have programed in the hot line string is actully being sent out over the co. So unles you need the 9 for a centrex access code leave it out of the hotline dial string. F78 is all that should be used.

BTW the reason we put a pause is because you HAVE to have something in the dialing string and a pause is the only "digit" that does nothing.
