Meridian Polycom has never worked on Norstar switch they are different. But you said it's working on an 824 that's a Norstar.

So which is this Polycom coming from a Meridian or a Norstar?

Yes there is a Polycom made for the Norstar.

We use the merdian ploycoms with large boardrooms as you can order extension microphones. Just need to install an ATA for them to work. You are 100% sure at the 8x24, if you listen with your butt set, before you plug in the speakerphone, that you hear digital tone and not analog tone?

The Polycom DOES work with the 8x24, but not the MICS. As far as the port it connects to, a M7208 is the normal phone that works there. As posted above, Polycom says the Meridian SoundStation is NOT compatible with the ICS series KSU's. I just find it strange that both M and T series phones will work with either KSU, but not the Polycom. Hmmmm.

So at the 8x24, where the polycom does work, if you plug in a set does it work? And you hear digital dial tone there with your butt set?

That is bizarre!!!!! Digital dial tone is digital dial tone, should work at either location. If you leave the polycom hooked up at the new location for 15 minutes and look in the port DN status, do you see anything?

Nickels, look at BOBCOMM's post for 3 May. Poly com says IT WON'T WORK! Or am I missing something? And don't forget, there is a Modular 824 that is NOT a MICS. That is apparently what the polycom was originally working on. John C.

CL - I have read the May 3rd post a few times. Norstar Merdian phone systems are not PBX's. Those are option 11's, Opt 21's, Opt 81's, Opt 61's. And a Nortar 8x24 is a Modular ICS. So what that Polycom qoute shows me, is there must be a miscommunication, if Bob's original phone system is an 8x24. All Nortel phones that work with T7208's, M7208's are called Key Systems. They are Nortel's version of a smaller phone system versus the M1 platform of PBX's. The Nortel Audio Conference Unit that connects to a key system part number I believe is NTAB2666. That is just off the top of my head though.

Nickels,
I am surprised. Norstar Meredian is not a Key System. Its Hybrid system and you know you can configure that as PBX in initial setup.

Vad, you can program the system type up as a "PBX" typical programming. Yes it can act like a PBX, but all Norstar phone systems are defined as a Key System, not a PBX.
