With the growing FRAUD problem via telephone systems, it is necessary to point out a few tips to secure your system and could possibly save you thousands of dollars in toll (Long Distance) fraud.
1) Is your system/voice mail using "Default" passwords?
2) Is your system/voice mail using "Simple" passwords such as 1234, 1111, your main telephone number, etc.?
3) Do you lack having "Dialing Restrictions" set up on your system?
If so, you are at HIGH risk for Toll Fraud. Passwords for your telephone system/voice mail are just as important as those for your computer, maybe even more so.
If you lack the knowledge to secure your system, or just want to make sure, bring in a trained technician to accomplish this or just to verify your settings. It's a small price to pay for peace of mind. Some service providers MAY NOT delete fraud toll charges on your phone bill....YOU COULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THESE CHARGES!
