I have a KX-TD1232 that has been running fine for a couple of years. The other day the phone lines went down and the power on all of the extensions went off and will not come back on. I can still get in the configuration and everything seems fine. I have restored from a backup and still no luck. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Gil

A short circuit on the second pair of any extension will knock out up to eight extensions at the same time. I'd disconnect all of the station wiring, power down the system for about an hour, power it back up and reconnect the stations one at a time. The defective station or wiring will bring the system back down fairly quickly once it is reconnected, so it should be easy to identify.

welcome

Thanks, but still no luck. I have unplugged all the extensions and rebooted it after about an hour. Now the voice mail system flashes the power light and I hear clicking when I pickup an extension. Nothing shows power on the extension, but I can hear beep when I pushed buttons on it.

Thanks,
Gil

Could be the PLU board. It is a small board with a crystal ans a IC on it. runs the digital ports and has gone on me before. the slt ports are unaffected. ( this is the case on the uk units anyway)

Can this board be changed? Or does it require a new phone system?

If the board is the problem you maybe able to get a second hand unit.or the same card is in the 816. Look for the card and make sure it is sitting ok on the motherboard,( It is about 1" wide and 2-3 " long) also try re doing the connections in the crystal. some times it gets it to work for a short time and proves it is the problem.
