I don't think you want to re-initialize. You won't have any hair left after re-programming the entire switch!

First off, it would be helpful to know what changes the provider made that would require a system reset. This shouldn't be necessary.

Is there a Stratagy vouice mail card in the system? DO NOT reset the phone cabinet is there is a VM card installed without first shutting down the VM!!

If no VM then just power down the system, wait 30 or 40 seconds then power back on.

Don't you have to do the cabinents in a certain order if you have multi cabinent? I was told by the installer a few years ago, for our then 6 cabinent unit (now 7) to shut down in any order, but make cabinent #1 the LAST one turned back on. Is this true?

I do have a Stratagy vm card. But I went ahead and pressed the reset button on the DK and all is well. Thanks for the reply. I guess the circuit from our provider went awol or something and that is why the reset was needed. They traced up to the CSU after their fix and figured a reset was needed. In the future, is this the best course of action? Hitting the reset button? I was almost going to unplug power and replug it in. I may need to do this anyway for a UPS power conversion. Would I lose my configuration if I powered off?????

Heres what the Installation Manual has to offer:
Important! The power supply with the “DKSUB” jumper plug (plug with wire) installed is the
master and has On/Off control over all other power supplies, which are designated
as slaves. If the master power supply is turned Off or On, all other power supplies
will automatically turn Off or On. (Individual power supplies must be turned On.)
But as Voyager stated if you have a inskin voicemail do not just turn off the power.
Also the system reset only takes 5 to 8 sec.

I guess it took to long to look up all that info. If you pressed the reset buttons on the power supply you didnt reset the system thou. You would still need to power down with the power switch or run program 91-2. 91-2 simulates turning the power off. BUt you still need to shut down your Stratagy Dk card before powering the system down.
