I have a user that works at home and at the office. At the office she is ext 203. As she's going to be working from home more we're getting her an IP phone - ext 298.

I'm planning on putting a "all call forward" button on her office phone that she can turn on and off to forward to her IP phone extension. And I've configured her IP phone to use 203's VM.

Is there a way I can have 203 turn on the MSG light of 298 when there are messages?

Any other ideas on how to set this up?

Go into the notification templates of MB203 and set up two more LIGHT ON and LIGHT OFF templates. Then at the bottom of the screen for each new template, in the method field, change #63(64)E- to #63(64)298-

Ok, no dice (no that I've finally gotten to try it). The template it is using is a DK 280 LGHT ON (on light off). That's what I used. The Method was a bit different

so I did (using 299 for testing)

W(5,T)#63%299-
W(5,T)#63%299-

I'm using a Stratagy DK card inside a CTX100. It may or may not be relevant that it says it's connected toa Strata DK424i. Also, this office doesn't have the "integration" module between the VM and the phone system - most other offices do. Should I try using a differnt template or a different method?

At my main office I have a Strata DK VM with a CTX 670. It has the integration piece. It's useing the Com1-3D template which is quite a bit different. Can I have it light up a different phone's MSG light when theres a message?

Did further testing. I see now that most of the templates are the same - and they are all 63%E- not 63(64)E-. So, looks like a different template won't help. Hmmmm.

Also, I verified that the light works on the IP phone if I have it set to use it's own extensions' VM and leave a message on it.

<grumble> I hope this is possible. If not, any other suggestions? Basically I have a user who works at home and the office and she has an office phone is both places but I only want her to have 1 VM - perhaps I could do a PhDN for her VM...no that won't work. Any ideas?
