On a working system that only had leds 10,11,12 and 13 lit in prgm 31 on port 000 I lit leds 04,05,09,15,16,17,19,and 20 and this duplicated the problem you described. BEFORE trying this or making any changes to your system write down what leds were lit up in what prgm. Always leave yourself a way back. A little tech support time from Dan the man Voyager would probably be money well spent.

MKD..

First, if you press the message light and the phone rings another extension and not VM, then the phone it is ringing has activated the internal messaging feature that the DK's have. You can turn off the message light in 2 ways: 1, when the MSG light is pressed and the phone rings and is answered or 2, do the following to the phone with the flashing light (handset on-hook) Int.-#409. Because doing the Int. - #409 turns off the MSG light, it might seem to the user that they are getting delayed VM. The light won;t come on again until a new MSG is left or someone turns the light on. Unfortunately, there is no way to turn this messaging feature off in the DK's. That feature was introduced in the CTX platform.

Second, if you are using DTMF/Inband integration, you won't be able to dial the VM pilot number or individual VM extensions and get the security code prompt or go to their mailbox. This is a feature of SMDI integration. What you can do with DTMF integration is program ID codes into the phone so that when they press the flashing MSG button they will get the security code prompt and when a caller rigns the phone and it is forwared to VM it will go to there mailbox and not the main greeting. Without these ID codes programmed, the phoen won;t work right when it comes to forwarding to a mailbox or retrieving messages using the MSG button.

What I suggest is to clear all ID codes and start again!

To clear ID codes:

VM ID:

* Press Int.
* Press the # butoon followed by 656
* Press Redial
* Press SPKR button

MSG ID:

* Press Int.
* Press the # button followed by 657
* Press Redial
* Press SPKR button

To set the ID codes:

VM ID:

* Press Int.
* Press #656
* Press 91
* Press the mailbox number for the user
* Press Redial
* Press SPKR button

MSG ID:

* Press Int.
* Press #657
* Press 92
* Press the VM pilot number
* Press REdial
* Press SPKR

In some cases, this needs to be done 2-3 times and if the phoen gives you a static shock, it might wipe put the ID codes and then you wouyld need to re-do them.

Third: The LED's 4,5, 9 and 15-20 need to be on for your VMports only!!!

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions!

If I'm reading your post correctly you're receiving a voicemail notification light when someone leaves you a message. When you push the message light it calls ext 200 and your display reads call xxx 200v. Go to program 31 and enter port 000# and turn off leds 04, 05, 09, 15, 16, 17, 19, and 20 and retest the system. Make a record of what leds you turned off in case you need to undo anything. Give it a try.

If you go into program 35 and turn off LED 4 for all ports that are NOT voice mail, then no pesky person will be able to turn on a MW light and confuse things.

LED 4 MUST be on for the voice mail ports so they can light the MW lite. Usually this is only the last port but it doesn't hurt to have it on for all the vm ports.

Hi guys,

So I am still confused. What program does it tell the MSG button which extention to dial when pushed?

My issue is that the button blinks when there are voice mail messages waiting, but then you push the button, it dials some extention other than the extention of the port of the voice mail (which is my case is 144)

How do I program the button so that when I push it, the phone dials 144?

In your system there are 2 ways to turn a MSG light on - a VM left in the mailbox or an extension calling you and accidentally turning on yoru MSg light. From your description, what is happening is the extension/port 144 activated the message light on your phone so when you press the flashing MSG light, it rings back to 144 becasue it turned the light on. As mentioned above, if you tuen LED 4 off in program 35 for all phone ports then the only way the MSg liht will be turned on is if there is a VM.

If you find an extension where the flashing MSG button rings another extension when it is pressed you can turn it off by:

1. the called extension picks up the handset
2. you leave the handset on hook and dial #409 (from the phone with the falshing light)

You may need to do the #409 sequence numerous times depending on how many times another extension turned on your MSG light.

Does this make sense to you?
