I'm trying to add (2) extensions to an existing DK280 system. I ordered a programming manual through this site but my time to get this resolved is running out. I'm an IT person by trade so I'm a little bit out of my area of expertise. I have some experience (ie: don't connect the phone wires to the outlet where a person might plug in a toaster, and the like) so I gave it a try.
This is what I've learned:
1. My customer is using less than 23 lines (I forget the actual number) so I believe there should be room for (2) more extensions.
2. I found the proper phone and extension to enter the programming mode and actually tried, successfully, a few commands to view assigned extensions. I did not change anything however.
3. I think I found the proper spot on the 66 terminal block based on the pattern the other lines are laid out. When I connect a phone to my new connection I get nothing on the display and no dial tone (of course).
4. These are not the only things I learned but the other things are too painful to admit if I am expected to get out from under the covers sometime this week and finish this job.
This seems like it should be a straightforward task even though I realize this is a complex system for a neophyte.
If I am just making something out of nothing any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Dk280 extensions are provisioned in increments of 8 and the co lines in 4"s and piggy backed to 8 ' s I would suggest you engage a local Toshiba installed to complete this install . If you have a DSS working you have no free ext and need to add a card, this will be a funtion of slots, software etc. In any case welcome to the forums.

"The Dk280 extensions are provisioned in increments of 8 and the co lines in 4"s and piggy backed to 8 ' s"
Um...
"If you have a DSS working..."
Are you asking me or telling me?
I was hoping to get this resolved and learn something at the same time.
I'm more than willing to pay someone to walk me through this.
Teach a man to fish, etc...
Thanks for the fast response.

You have to tell us how many PDKU cards you have in the cabinet. each card as you've been told is 8 ports. If you co to comand 04 and dial 023 its will tell you what Ext.#, if any, on that port. If you are using PKT telephone you would need to pair hook up, if DKT then one pair.

This is the inventory from the purchase agreement:
(1)DKSUB280 (1)RCTUA3A-1SW (2)PDKU (1)RDSU (1)RRCS4 (2)RCOU (1)RCOS (1)PIOU
Hope this helps.
Thanks,

Based on your post you have 20 digital stations and a full cabinet. You can replace the RDSU with a pdku and will go to 24 stations . You can also remove the PIOU and add 8- more stations. The rdsu has 2 co lines on it ,but you can add a 4- co rcos to the second rcou.
Beyond that you need a second cabinet and new software.
