I am looking into an issue with programing a DK40 that has 5 lines. Line 5 currently only rings to 1 station (21 PT011). I am trying to get a delyed ring to all other phones, and have programed options 82, 85, and 88 for line 5 to ring at all other phones. However it does not work properly. I have checked program 16, and all phones do have access, in fact when a call is ringing in, the key can be pressed to answer, just no ringing is heard. I also checked program *15 and all lines belong to the same tenant.

Is there anything that I am missing that could allow the line to be private to station 21 and not allow ringing at other phones?

I am providing remote phone support for this issue, so any questions you have may or may not be able to be answered timily. I do appreciate any assistance or direction to resolving this issue.

Can they make calls out on line 5?
Have you checked P40 so all handsets can access I/C and O/G for line 5?

When you are programming in P81-89 it will be LED5 (line4) on the handset.

Carl

Thank you for the reply.

Calls can be made outbound. We did look into 40 and 41 but as they read in the manual for "Toll Restriction" we did not think they applied. Also, since the call can actually be ansered while ringing from any of the phones, this also steered us away from those programs.

Years ago I worked for a Toshiba dealer and found that programing changes took effect right away. One thing that is pending is a power cycle of the system as a means of "refreshing" the KSU. I am thinking it is possible this KSU is acting flacky, and may need to be replaced, but would like to exhaust all other options first.

Some settings like card assignments require a power cycle, but ringing should not.

Maybe you can check *81 - *89. If I remember correctly (I am not an expert on the DK series) those programs would cause the ringing or call forwarding to work different.

Nothing like a good old power cycle to make things right, unless you loss programming, which I have had happen on some old AT&T partner systems and Norstar. SO far haven't had a Toshiba lose programing yet. DOn't know how the memeory is stored.

I forgot about Panasonic DBS, but I just realized that the above statment is not true. I have had the NEW Toshiba line, CTX, mysteriously default itself (or pull an older programiing from the SM card) on a couple of occasions when I was not onsite, yet battery on the CPU battery seemed fine.

Are you sure when you programed the ringing in 82,85& 88 that you selected line 5 ? It will be the 5th. button up on the phone not the actuall button that has line 5 on it. The intercom button would be line 1 in programing.

@ newtecky & Steve

Thank you for the replies.

newtecky - Not positive on the effects of *81-*89, however since we had a square key button assignments we did not check it, as it pertained to having a (DN) flash when a CO rings. The key flashes, just cant seem to get the phone to ring.

Steve Mull - Yes we were lamping the 5th key up from the botom, not paying attention to the Desi label. I did verify that one 4 times with my tech on site. I even made him take the Desi out of the phone so it would not distract him.

Check program 39 on what would be the line 5 key and see what is programmed there. It could be a PhDN and not a CO line key.

All possible reasons that I can think of for no delay ringing on DKT's is listed above. From your responses, my money is on newtecky (P*81, P*84, & P*87).

Got word today that the power cycle seems to have fixed the issue. I have never heard of that for ringing programing, but whatever works to get it going.

Thank you to all have have posted suggestions, and advice!
