Put your butt set on a vm port and dial extensions 17 and 20 to see if that works. Could be a bad dtmf reciever. It's happened to me before with the exact symptoms you have.

phonemeister,

I will have to find a butt set to use since I don't have one.

Did you mean DTMF? I have heard of DTMF. Is this easily replaced or will it take an authorized repair tech?

Is the DTMF user replaceable in the DK40i? Like just removing a DTMF card and replacing with a new one?

Yes the DTMF Receiver card is user replaceable. Do you know the type you have installed K4RCU or K5RCU?

I would get a SLT phone and test it before you went through with buying a replacing a card.

I have the K5RCU.

What is a SLT phone? Is it the butt set that I need to test the extensions with?

Sorry I don't know all the telephone terminology.

You all have been a great help though.

SLT is single-line telephone like an analog phone you would have at your house. If you don't have a butt set, use an SLT. Take the line cord from the back of the Stratagy and plug it right into the SLT and then place a test call.

Which port do I plug the SLT into on the Stratagy?

There is port |, ||, |||, ||||. Currently port | and || have a line plugged in and |||, |||| are empty.

I should have asked which line from the Stratagy, | or || do I plug into the phone?

Also, where am I calling. Do I try the extension?

"This is what happens:
Caller dials in to the main number. Call attendant answers and caller selects extension 17 but is instead transferred to 15. This also happens if the caller dials 20 he is transferred to 16.
The extensions that were there were 20 for 20 and 17H for 17. The automated attendant transfers ext 17 to 15 and 20 to 16."

Is the transfers consistently going to the same extensions if so what was said by RRino ( 2. Ext 17 could be forwarded to 15 and ext 20 to 16, if so, cancel the forwarding.) Especially 17 because that is a blind transfer not supervised by the voice mail system

check the displays of the 2 phones
