I have the Starplus STS phone #3515-71 installed in my office.
I want to purchase a cordless phone to replace/plug in to the Starplus STS phone.

My problem is I don't know which to buy.
I tried to plug in regular cordless phone to the port on the side, but it doesn't work.
Do I need to buy digital cordless phone? Can someone point me to one?

Port on the side? Are you referring to the extra port on the Starplus phone itself or the Analog port of the KSU? Any cordless phone should work, but if you are trying to use the extra port off the bottom of the phone, it will need to be wired correctly at the KSU end and use a 2 pair line cord at the phone.

The extra jack on the phone is not for this purpose. That is for connecting proprietary auxilary equipment to the phone. There are several options for you to consider:

1. You can purchase the Wanderer, a proprietary wireless handset that works in conjunction with your current phone and they both share the same extension;

2. Purchase a store-bought cordless phone of your choice and connect it to one of the two analog extension jacks on the right side of your system's main control unit. This would mean that the cordless would have a different extension;

3. Purchase a single-line adapter (SLA) that converts the existing digital extension to an analog extension. This will support any type of cordless phone and actually allows two of these arrangements to be accommodated. You will probably need a technician for this.
