NAPCOMM
I have seen the problem on the 3516-71 keysets as well. (backlit)
The answer move to a different station port? Huum... not for sure this is a valid answer, would like a more solid explanation

I actually was sitting at a cleints desk and when i picked up the phone got static discharge on the chin and when looked at the phone the display is all goofed up. I have seen this in the dead of winter and also when the air conditioning is running and it is freezing dry air in an office area. Thought i would let you know. I have also just seen the displays go bad and not come back to the original state and need to be repaired.
