My goodness! Why all the shouting? (All caps).
Are you using KSU clock control to switch between day and night modes or are you using a time control? If it's KSU clock control, there's not a lot that can be done; it takes a few minutes either way to occur.
The "port used to switch" confuses me. All data between the system and the Talkpath for this rides on the first OR the last port connected.

NOT SHOUTING,JUST BAD TYPIST(TYPE EVERYTHING IN CAPS),BUT ANY WAY. PER VODAVI TECH SUPPORT THE LAST PORT,BY DEFAULT IS THE TRANSMISSION PORT ,KSU CLOCK,MWI,NOTIFICATION ETC.,AND I VERIFIED THIS IN THE REGISTRY,THISIS KSU CLOCK CONTROL,DONE ON THE 8TH PORT OF THE VM,W/O ANY TRAFFIC ON THIS PORT USUALLY TAKES 30 SEC TO A MINUTE TO SWITCH BETWEEN MODES ,WHICH IS WHAT I TELL ALL MY CUSTOMERS,THIS HOWEVER W/ NO TRAFFIC ON IT IS TAKING ANYWHERE FROM 7 TO 10 MINS???

I've had it switch anywhere between 30 seconds to well over 5 minutes. It is just the way it works.
As far as I know it has nothing to do with any version of software on the phone system or the voicemail, nor nothing to do with traffic.
Out of hundreds of installed Dolphins I've only had customers ask a few times and it's rarely been an issue when I've explained it.
Don't forget to make sure the vmail time is synchronized to the phone system time. Erratic KSU clock control might occur. Also DO NOT have the vmail ports spread across two different station boards. This scenario WILL cause erratic vmail operation.
If the customer absolutely cannot live with it upgrade to the inskin flash or HDD on the STS/XTS which switches almost immediately.
