I will not wire same / same outlets so IT can patch anything to an outlet. If it is for a computer, 8P, telephone, 6P outlets.

The people that brought you Pearl Harbor are the ones who like the 568a wiring so they don't have to rewire jacks. The real world is 568b. One fits all is like a 4X2 jeep. It works somewhat but just isn't right.

Um, FWIW, in my experience 6p4c are the way to go. Also, the NEC phones we get here won't accept 8p8c plugs. If you meant the wall-jack, it's easiest to use a 6p4c jack at the wall also, since this lets you use pre-made 2-conductor or 4-conductor station cords.

What's wrong with patching phone to rj45 jacks? When designing the network, I specifically specked all jacks both phone and data to rj45. In certain areas either may be needed, but only one jack is available. Perfect solution.

Well, too often someone crams a 4p4c into them, and you can't get it out when you go to move the phone. I try to limit the amount of cursing that I do in front of customers.

We are a interconnect/cable company. I have terminated voice cables to panduit cat 5 and cat 5e connectors for eight years now and never had to go on a service because the line cord came loose inside the connector. We are now using more Ortronics with the same results. We have also made it a standard to pull cat 5e cable for voice and data. Just thought I pass on my experience.
