We have a system that whenever the power fails and the system comes back on the voice mail will add mail boxes automatically for telephone stations we do not want to have voice mail boxes. How do we turn this off.

It could be the line in the VM.CFG about AUTO CREATE MAILBOXES. This will cause new mailboxes to be created when a non-existent mailbox number is dialed from a routing box. You would either delete this line or put a * or ; in front of it to comment it out. Of course you would need to stop/restart voicemail for the change to take affect. I susually accomplish this by stopping VM (STOPVM) then rebooting.

My tech went out on this again and the line AUTO CREATE MAILBOXES was deleted a while back and it still auto creates them when the power fails and the system comes back on. Power fails a lot out there. HELP!

Hey Mark3906,
I've seen a strange line in the Comdial.lnk about downloading database info. I can't remember what it's called but it's towards the the bottom half of the file and is commented out in in 11.0-12.0 new installs. You might want to try commenting out that line with a ; if you can find it.
