Wonder if anyone out there can advise me on this. I need to change the IP address of our SVMi-20E so that it is on the same subnet as our internal mailserver for sending voicemail messages and call recordings via email.
I understand the process (have read it in a manual for the SVMi-16E and assume it is the same for the SVMi-20E) I think!!
My problem is I don't know what cable I need to connect my laptop to the SIO port. Do I have to have a 9pin serial port on my laptop?

The answer is YES! You need a straight through 9 pin serial cable to connect. If your laptop has no serial port ( I just got a new one that has none) use a USB to serial adapter. I've connected using it and have had no problems, just make sure you get the correct driver. The configuration on the 20E is the same as the 8E and 16E voicemails. Good luck!

Yes. For the svmi-20e you need to have 1 end as a db-9 serial and the other as a RJ-45 plug. Ill try to find the pin out from samsung and post it here.
Mitel, Samsung, CTP+ and A+ Certified.

If I remember correctly, forgive me if I am wrong, but I remember using a regular Cisco cable to SIO into the 20E.

Yap is a CISCO if you prefer, but is the “standard†for many others company. It’s only a open view for Samsung.
