Hey All,

Have been using an OfficeServ 500 for quite a while now and have purchased a Netcomm V85 VoIP phone for testing. Obviously, the Samsung IP phones are a breeze to setup as we use them at our other office. But what I need to know is will the OS 500 support 3rd Party Phones? Listed below are the settings for the phone and what I have entered so far to no avail.

SIP Parameters;

Phone Number: 339 (desired extension no.)
Password: **** (as per MMC840)
Auth ID: User ID from MMC840
SIP Domain Name: Blank
Local Port: 5060

Question?; the Extension number I want to use (339) is not listed under MMC840. How do I add this as an IP phone. I know with the Samsung handsets, they just add in when you power up and go through the phone setup

The current Samsung OS500 and OS7X00 systems do not support third party SIP phones, but my information is that this ability will be added to the software early in 07.

Users will however need to purchase a SIP license to allow third party phones to work.

By default third party phones will be allocated to a new default number range, but this will be changeable in the dial number plan as usual.

That's good news. I don't mind having to pay for a License unless it's going to be more than the Samsung IP Phones smile

Thanks for the reply
