Hello.

I have a simple question.

How can I get the Samsung Doorphone to ring an external number such as a cell phone in an Idcs 100 R2 phone system(method might be the same on all Samsung systems)?

It sounds simple enough however I can't get this to work.

I don't want to bore you with the details but I have been able to get an extension to forward the call to an external number.

However, when I include that extension as part of a station group(mmc 601). It will no longer forward to an external number(even if the station group only has that single extension). The Idea being that I would assign that station group to the doorphone in MMC 211 and it would ring the building then an cell phone number if no one answered(becuase one of the extensions in the group would be set to forward externally to my cell)

I also can't get the doorbell to ring that extension which forwards to an external number.

Is there any tricks to making something like this work or is it just not possible? I sure sure appreciate any help you can offer me.

Thanks

No, an externally forwarded extension will not ring externally when in a station group. Try this instead:

Set an extension or virtual extension to externally call forward. Set that extension in MMC 211. If that works, then do this:

Create your station group in 601 for the internal phones you want to ring. Set the overflow destination to your externally forwarded extension. Set mmc 211 to ring that station group.

Let me know what happens.

Dont forget to set intercom external forward to yes under MMC 210. I also dont belive that it will go external on a overflow from a station group as the station group is still part of the ringing until answered. But maybe you could have it set to over flow the station group to voice mail (SVMIE I hope) and then set that to go to a dial block that forwards the call diectly to a cell or send's it to the virtual extension.

Hi.

Yes, I have ICM EXT FWD set to yes in MMC 210.

I do have an extension setup to forward the call( MMC 102).

When I dial that extension directly, it does forward to an external number. It does not seem to work when part of a group or even with an overflow to that extension.

My question is if you are actually able to get to work on any samsung system or if this is isolated to me? What you said sound like it would work in theory but I'm not having much luck.

Thanks.

Yah, if a station group is involved at all with the direct ring, you will not be able to forward out. You should be able to pull off what fonefxr said. If you ring a group and overflow to vm, then have a dial block or ext transfer handle the rest.
