Please bear with me, as I'm not familiar with the newer Comdial systems.

Client has a system that requires programming. I asked the client to provide numbers from the system, but they are unable to access it due to it's elevated location in the phone closet.

I am trying to avoid a trip to the site just to read the label! Client indicates their phones are "Comdial Edge 120's".

Can anyone tell me what system this might be based on the telephones that are being utilized?

Also, can this system be programmed via a handset?

Thanks in advance.

That system would be the Comdial Vertical DX 120. Yes it can be programmed with handset but much easier with laptop.

Do I need any proprietary software to program with a laptop? I only need to change a few names, nothing major...

Yes you do. Buy the time you get set up you could be done by set. It's almost as easy as a Nortel!

Phone programming is actually easier imo once you learn where everything is of course. Annoying to have to go to where the cabinet is, take cover off, plug in, start laptop, etc. Haha. I guess I hate it so much since my new laptop doesn't work with the software and my older one can't connect to the internet and won't take a flash drive for me to load the software on smile
