Does anyone know if it is possible to forward a DID to an external number. I know it's possible if the DID is assigned to a phone and they have set up function 565.
However what if there is no telephone linked to that DID. Anyway to set up say a guest mail box to forward to off premise? I've looked through ESI Access and DTMF programming but can't seem to find anything

You can do it. Send the DID to an INFO (not guest) mailbox, record a second of silence, set the no response action to forward to a branch ID set up as an outdial branch, record silence in the ID greeting and you will be all set. You might need to screw around a little with pauses in the dial string but i have done it this way many times.
I do it the same way upstateny does it except I leave out the INFO mbox and point the DID directly to a non referenced ID branch setup as outdial. You also do not have to record the silence unless you want the caller unaware of the transfer, I think the default used to be pretty vague and I left it sometimes if the client wanted the caller to know they were being transferred.
