I personally haven't, in fact the only place I have seen Cisco's work flawlessly is on the set of 24.
I am interested in hearing more about your possible application though. Whatcha got goin on?

I am integrating Cisco phones with a commserver 200 via SIP plus interfacing it with Microsoft OCS. Wahoo! It should be an interesting experiment at least. I'm just testing the limits and possibilities of the ESI system.

bterry, I would be very interested to know what your results are, In theory at least phones like the Cisco, Polycom & Snom should work as SIP is an open standard...............

Working with ESI extensively for a few years and now working for a SIP PBX Manufacturer, what I think you'll find is that the Cisco phones will work with the ESI switch, configuring the phone and it's features is a whole other issue. You may be able to get it to ring, and able to call out but using features can be tricky as the programming (especially with a Cisco) can be tedious and difficult.

interesting (from ESI documentation)... Programming a SIP phone (local operation only) The implementation of SIP in an ESI Communications Server emulates a SIP gateway  i.e., the system is considered the “gateway†to other services (stations, CO lines, and voice mail) for the SIPendpoint (SIP phone). It also means calls to and from a SIP phone always are connected through an IVC in the ESI Communications Server. Important: An ESI Communications Server will NOT auto-configure SIP endpoints. An ESI Communications Server supports only local (and not remote, off-site) SIP endpoint
Local only? didn't know that!

I haven't seen a Cisco on an ESI but I personally have had one working on a Toshiba CIX and as I type have a 7940 connected to an Ipitomy system on my desk. If you can get the Cisco SIP image and load it on the phone it will most likely work.
