Anyone know what pins are used on the 8 conductor PC program port of an ADIX IX-CPU/HW?

The installer.pdf shows the pin out for the MOH port, but not the PC Program port. It also shows how to change the baud rate for the port.

I know the pin out for a programming cable, just don't know what pins are actually used.

DB9 to RJ45 is roll over, ie 8 to 1, 7 to 2, etc.

What pins does the 9 pin actually use, and what pins does the 8 conductor RJ45 actually use?

I would assume 4, 2 for TX, and 2 for RX, but which 4 ?

Thanks,

CadJoe

I have a BUNCH of 9 pin male to 9 pin female cables that I want to make 9 pin ADIX program cables out of.

I cut off the male end, and the wire has 5 conductors. I was going to crimp on an RJ45, but I need to know what the pin out for the RJ45 female is on the CPU/HW card.

I have an gray convertor from DB9 to RJ45 and it is a roll over, pin 8 to 1, 7 to 2, etc. So I usually just plug in a straight ethernet cable from that into the CPU/HW card, and do the programing.

I just would like to have several extra program cables without having to buy them. Gives me something to do also.

Thanks,

CadJoe

it doesn't matter what color you use as long as the thing pins out correctly.

yeah, that's the question, what pins out of the 8 pin RJ45 are required??

After punching down all 8 wires to a female RJ45 jack, and removing them one at a time, and trying to reconnect, I have determined that only 5 of the 8 pins are needed. What these 5 pins are, tx rx, etc, I don't know.

DB9 &nbsp &nbsp RJ45

1 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 1 = un-used

2 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 2 = NEED

3 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 3 = NEED

4 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 4 = NEED

5 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 5 = NEED

6 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 6 = un-used

7 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 7 = un-used

8 &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 8 = NEED

Since my 9 pin cables have only 5 conductors, and one is the outside ground on the DB9, I can't use these cables. frown

Oh well, now we know.

Thanks,

CadJoe
