I am newly working on Iwatsu systems. Usually an Avaya IP Office shop. I have a client who says the wrong name comes up on dial by name directory. How do you make changes to the dial by name directory? Just for your INfo, I only have the ability to connect and program through a KT phone. I do not have the software or adapter for PC.

What voicemail are they using? The Iwatsu onboard, or a third party?
If it's the Iwatsu voicemail, just have the new user re-record the name prompt in their voicemail box. That's usually the culprit.

I believe the onboard. Thanks for the response. I will try what you suggest.

If you're plugging in a new user to a previously used mailbox, ask the newbie to go to 'User Options' (option 3) in the mailbox and press 6. This will start the new user tutorial and set the mailbox up properly.
Sometimes the thoughts in my head get so bored, they go for a stroll through my mouth. This is rarely a good thing.

Just to clarify, it IS the internal voicemail. So to be sure I understand this (the client is a 3 hours drive away so I want to make sure I am good to go before I schedule.) In the voicemail go to 3 user options then 1 to re-record the name and that is really all that is needed? Jbean, pressing 6 guides them through setting the whole thing up properly? Also to verify, this will all work through the voicemail in the phone? No need for a PC and the software?

ALso, how does verbally re-recording the name make the dial by name know the right name?

Yes, this is all done through the phone by the user. They log in to their mailbox just like they were going to check new messages, but go to user options instead.
When you record your name in the mailbox, the system also asks you to, "Please enter the first few letters of your first name... Please enter the first few letters of your last name." These digits, entered on the key pad by the user, are what populate the dial-by-name directory.
Hope that is more understandable.
