I need help with a paging situation... Our office has cisco call manager and a 70v paging system in the office. Access to the paging system is by dialing a speed dial number for a cisco VG-248 analog port that rings into a Bogen PCM2000 page controller that answers the analog phone call and immediately connects to the PA system. This has worked flawlessly for 5 years. Now the office is expanding to another building. We can install ip phones easy enough in the new building to work from the call manager in the original building but I need options for the paging in the new building. The receptionist will continue to do all paging from the original main building and we would like the page to go to both buildings simultanously. There will be a fiber data connection between the buildings but probably no copper. What are the options? I have not worked with ip paging and that would probably require removing the PCM2000. There will be a cisco analog adapter in the new building. I'd appreciate help/suggestions.

If you aren't doing any zones the PCM2000 is overkill. All you need is a TAMB. If there is going to be an analog adapter in the new building use a TAMB to interface it with the paging system. Then put both extensions in a calling group- that assumes of course that Cisco even knows what that is. Dial the calling group to page both buildings or, if you wanted to you can even page them individually by dialing the extensions separately.

Thanks Hal, I normally think of a calling group in that all extensions in the group ring but the first one to answer locks all the others out from also answering the call. I'm wondering if both paging adapters can answer and in effect setup what would be a conf call... I will start researching this in the CCM. I agree the TAMB is the best way to go. My boss had me get the PCM2000 because we were going to use zone paging. We have four zones in the original building that we have never used in five years... :-) Thanks, DT
