Hello, Some help would be wonderful, allworx support = joke and my partner = no technical knowledge.

Running an allorx 6x with Version: 7.1.8.1 (Build: Oct 25 2010, 13:08:07)

As of Sunday we can not access our general voice mail box. Whenever the message starts to place it hangs up the call. I am not sure how this happened but a solution would be greatly appreciated.

*Seriously missing the old analog phone system at times like this*

Hmmm, based on the 'build' date, it's less than 60 days old. Who sold it to you and why haven't you called them about support? If they've disappeared, I'd suggest you contact Allworks directly for someone in your area to service what 'should' be in warranty. Of course, if you bought it on-line....

Reason I haven't talked to the person that sold me the system is they are a great sales person but not a great support person. Any time in the past I have asked for help they have to bring in an outside consultant that doesn't know allworx but knows IT.

You made a big mistake, then. We are Allworx dealers and I have sent 5 techs through the Allworx Certification program, so that when we sell and install the system, our customers have support from a qualified person.

Why did the sales person think that all that had to be done is to hook up the wires, turn it on and everything would just be peachy?? Sorry...this sort of thing just irritates the living heck out of me. Whoever sold you that system and left you high & dry---did you no favor. Far from it. They have "no technical knowledge"?? So what are they doing in the business? It makes no sense!!

So.....what is the problem with the voice mail?? What is it that you want it to do??

IT really ticks me as well. I had no idea this guy knew nothing about the technical side of the phone just the features. Sold me hard thought i was getting the best product on earth.. Still think it is a good product just never set up properly. *some of the key features i was sold on never worked properly...

But anyway back to the current issue. The problem is this, the voicemails are on the system but i am unable to access them. We have multiple voicemail boxes and the problem lies with the *General mail box* the one that everything goes to after hours.

When I try to access the messages, it gives me the date and time of a message and then hangs up. Never had the problem before, just since sunday. I tried *3 erasing but it won't let me when i press * it hangs up as well.

Using a e-mail program, set up a POP client using the IP address of the allworx server, the username of the mailbox and the password for the mailbox.

Once done, get connected, and hit send/rec. in the e-mail program.

This will pull all of the e-mail (v-mail in this case) for that user. You will find there is a message that has been saved to the mailbox without a header.

Call in and leave yourself a message. Should work fine now.
