I cannot get a Polycom 6000 IP phone to work with a new Allworx server. I contacted Allworx tech support and they gave me documentation on how to get it all setup but it was still not registering with the phone system. I cannot dial the extension number to make it ring or call another phone from it. Any suggestions? It is a brand new 6x system.

From what vendor did you purchase the Allworx?

Who did you buy the Polycom 6000 from??

Do you have documentation for the Polycom? Do they suggest any website programming?

When we have set up IP phones that are not Allworx, the major programming comes from the IP phone documentation. An example, we have set up Aastra MBU400s on quite a few systems--I even have one here in the office--and there was quite a bit of work to set it up---all stemming from the Aastra---the Allworx programming was rather simple.

Have you been Certified on the Allworx??

We got all the equipment for Paetec. We do not sell Allworx but are certified to install them for this company. I have been certified but has been 3-4 months since then and I haven't even touched one since the training. The Allworx tech support had given me documentation on how to set it up, but it has not worked. I guess I will have to dig a little deeper into the Polycom programming.

Yes, I'd check on the Polycom documentation. However---you know that you DO have to treat that SIP phone as a SIP phone in the Allworx programming and set it up to ring, and set up User, Extension, Handset parameters---just like any other SIP or Allworx phone. Without doing that, of course, the phone is just a lump of plastic & solder.

Who does the programming on a deal like that? Paetec or you?? Or does Paetec just supply you with the equipment?

We get all of our support from our vendors. They are excellent. Without them, I would not be selling & installing the Allworx.

Paetec ships us the equipment and we do all of the programming of the system. As they do not have any techs in this area, so they just sell them.

I have the handset setup, with an extension. I do not have a user as I understood things that's just if you want to have voice mail, but you did not need to create one otherwise.

Still trying to get this thing to work.

I just configured multiple IP6000 phones to use with an Allworx.

Here is a tutorial:
