I believe you need 6.1 or better to display CLID on more than 1 set. It should work on ver1 as well, but you'd only see it on one phone before the call is answered.

It will also transfer the info when you transfer the call. If calls are answered with a Flash or Call Pilot, it'll pass along the info as well.

Can I use the same NV-RAM cartridge that the current ver 1 card is in? Also what exactly does the XC versions of software? I was assuming it meant extended cabinet! Is there anything I need to know about doing the upgrade from 1 to 6.1? Thanks for all the help.

Going from v1 to v6.1, an upgrade is not going to be a simple task, as you would have to go in stages. The menu structure is completely different from v1 to v6.1. Also, if you are going thru the hassle of an upgrade, it would be best to go all the way to the final version, 7.1. The best option would be to just default the system, upgrade to 7.1, and then program from scratch. It will go much more smoothly and quickly.

The difference between xc software and non xc software is that with xc you can install a second 6 port fiber card to have all 12 port ability. Also just to second the CLID question, you can only see the caller id before answering on one phone with that software release. You can program a view button on all the phones though if people want to see the CLID info before answering or you can always upgrade to 6.1 and up.

As long as the lines appear AND RING on their phones.

I will correct this info.
As long as the line is on the phone and is flashing (appear only) you may still see caller ID using the F811 command.
Press F811, then press flashing line just ONE time. Pressing a second time will answer the call.
