When you disconnect the set from the wall, do you still get the busy tone?

If so, probably there is a short on the cabling somewhere and to prove or confirm that, disconnect the pair from the system and see if busy tone persists.If it doesn't check for shorting point on cable.

If short stops after disconnecting the telephone set, the set is faulty.Replace it.

Finally, if busy tone remains even after disconnecting the set the if there exists a free port i suggest you connect that extension to a new port/ext number and re-label it back to its original extension number.

at the bix x-connect i tried an other phone and is doing same problem,,customer reporting this morning that the digital phone on tne same port the CF/DND does not work. pot's ext port 12-1, digital ext port 12-2.

i have seen ports go once in a blue moon find an unused ext port on system if you are programing thru the phone make present 203 ext 100 or 199 the change unused ext to 203 and make sure you turn on xdp on that jack and move x connect to new port dont forget flex buttons and fwd b/na to vm on new port b4 you bail out ,,,hows weather in the GWN ????

thanks, i will try that today, weather is great, january-february was a lot cold, -40 lots of time,,march is warmer around 0 celcius, we are looking for july, normally we do not have snow,, :-)
