I installed the eManager 5.2 on a XP pc which is not on a domain. For some reason after the installation is complete, when I try to login as xxxxxxxx and default "xxxxx", it gives me the following error. Could you please let me know what could be wrong.

Can not connect to database.
Cannot open database "eManager2007" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'sa'.

It looks like the database didnt install.
Did you have any SQL errors during the install process?
You can check by looking in the c:\program files\microsoft sql server\msql\logs\install log.txt file

Look for MSXML Parser 6.0 as this is usually the reason the SQL fails to install.

If this is the reason you will have to remove MSXML Parser 6.0 and re-install the eManager software again.

Make sure you are logged in as the Administrator and disable any antivirus/internet security software you might have running.

good luck smile

Carl - that did the trick. I uninstalled MSXMLPARSER 6.0 and eManager. Reinstalled eManager and I am back in business. Thanks for all your assistance.

Okay, old post revival. I have this same problem. I have tried removing the emanager and parser and reinstalling, but no good.

Strange thign is that this was already installed on a couple of computers that I use for our system and all of a sudden, neither works. Not sure if maybe a windows update did something or what.

I actually need a version for Windows 7, but have not seen that yet.

any ideas?

Thanks.

You will need version v5.20B21 I think there is a newer one of v5.20B26 both of these will work with Win7 and Server 2008.

good luck.

I found version Ver. 5.20B12C right after I posted this yesterday. Just installed it on my Win7 64bit machine with no problems and am up and going.

Thanks.
Scott
