First, let me explain the desired behavior, and then explain what the current behavior and settings are. This desired behavior was working at one time, but was "broken" when the auto-attendant was disabled hastily after the company was purchased.

This is a CTX670 with iES32 voice mail and PRI. The primary number for the company "555-1234" is being routed to the pilot DN 5000 using the last 4 "1234". When dialing "555-1234", the caller hears the auto-attendant greeting, which is recorded on the default system mailbox, 990. That part currently works. In addition, all telephones have a one-touch button programmed for "5000". When pressed, this button should dial 5000 and simply say "Enter the destination mailbox". Currently, it is only playing the auto-attendant message from mailbox 990.

The pilot DN 5000 is configured as:
01 Alternate Destination-Dialing Digits
Alternate DN-5500 (voice mail hunt group)
02 Voice Mail ID-5000

Mailbox 5000 is currently programmed with all default Chain Applications and Parameters. If I set Chain done or Chain RNA to Application "DIRECTSEND" with no Parameter, I get the message "Enter the destination mailbox" on both calls to 5500 and the main number "555-1234"

Any changes I make to either Chain Done or Chain RNA apply to both calls to 5000 and the main number "555-1234". I cannot figure out how to split this behavior between internal and external calls to 5000.

Any help would be appreciated.

I can't see any reason you would program the DID destination to the Pilot DN 5000 if you just want the system to play the default greeting in mailbox 990.

If I were you I would leave 5000 for internal use and send the DID 1234 to 5500, the voice mail hunt group pilot. Mailbox 990 will play by default. If you wanted a different mailbox to play, leave the destination as 5500 and add a value in in the VMID field.

That makes sense. I changed the DID routing from 5000 to 5500. Calls from outside go to 990 and play the auto-attendant message. I then changed 5000 back to DIRECTSEND and expected it to play "Enter the destination mailbox", but it's still playing the auto-attendant as well. I'm not on site today so I'll have to play with it some more tomorrow.

The system will eventually go back to the main menu when it times out from waiting on the user to enter something.

I had set the VMID for the Pilot DN 5000 to 990. Set it back to 5000 and it's playing the correct message now and incoming calls from outside are going to the auto attendant via DID routing to 5500. Thanks for the assistance!
