TuCows owns Hover.com which is a pretty good outfit. I have my domain hosted there..but the parent company freeware site is not to be trusted. I grabbed a simple freeware program from there, I should have known better, that was full of dangerous junk including an IE proxy server hijacker which caused me no small amount of trouble to remove.

I think you mean Tucows.com? https://www.tucows.com/downloadsIf so, yes they do the same thing as CNET's download.com. I use Majorgeeks.com and BleepingComputer.com for freeware/shareware downloads. Those sites don't bundle adware into the downloads.
