You'll have to change from Hot line to Warm. They'll need to dial a "9" for CO calls.

thats not good. its an emergency phone by the pool and they need it super simple. its a 911 phone. they do have to dial the 911 digits but they want it simple to use. if they had a digital phone with hot line config would there be a way to get icm dialtone. thanks dave

Change it from hot to warm with a short timer, very short before it grabs an outside line...if they are quick they can dial another extension.

If they had a digital phone, they could dial an extension before going off-hook.

Personally, I would not change anything for a pool phone. IMO, that is an emergency phone and should not be used for anything else.

i agree it is for 911 emergency but the idea is if they have someone trained in cpr in the office that can tend to an emergency until paramedics arive that could be helpful. it does allow to call the office on a co line.

In emergencies, people do strange things. When setting up Mitel systems I fondly remember always adding a route so 9911 and 911 both works...people get adrenaline going and things just happen. Simple = good. I agree with NFC that it should be a single purpose phone and not for intercom calls. I've used the Viking Emergency phone for pools (also works great in elevators) - no dialpad on those.
