I am trying to setup a Polycom SoundStation 2W on our ESI phone system using a analog line. I can connect to the first call and put it on hold using conference button on the Polycom then make and connect to the second call... BUT....when I press the conference button to complete the conference the second call always drops. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Fran

Change the flash rate on the polycom unit in its menu. And I believe you have to hit that confernce key twice.

Thanks for the ideas. I have set the flash timer to 600 ms as suggested on the polycom and the phone system. I press the flash/conference button twice and second call still drops.
The conference button shows flash across the display when I press it so I think I have the right button. There is no other key on the polycom that could be used as a flash key from what I see.

Any other timing parameter for the flash I should try?

What is the flash duration set to in the ESI? Look at F151. Default is 1.5 seconds. Most people will adjust this to between 600-800 ms. You need to be in that "flash window" for the ESI system to interpret the flash as a request for dial tone and transfer.

I reset the flash timer on the phone already. It says in tenths so I have it at 0.6 to match with the 600ms on the polycom. Have I missed something?

What you missed is that you may have to "tweak" the setting because 600 ms isn't ALWAYS 600 ms with both devices. Go down to 400 ms and increment up to 800 ms (.4 to .8) and see if there's a "sweet spot" in there that works. In the old days, the flash timing could be sloppy and still work. Today, it has to match very closely to work.
