Can the DS2000 be upgraded to support Directory Dialing/Lookup by Name?

I know this feature is available for DSX phone systems but did not know if it could be added to a DS2000 systems.

DS2000 FW 03.22.12 provides for compatibility with DSX hardware but did not know if that applied to the Voice Mail hardware.

The DS has Directory Routing Boxes under the Voice Mail tab.

You da'man! Took a while but our DS2000/IntraMail system is now configured for Directory by Name. Apparently NEC added this function back in 3.20.x.

Configured Master Mailbox 4 as Directory Mailbox (8005)
Set up to search minimum of first 3 characters of the last name.

Noted that the options for Last, First or First, Last under 0201 have no effect, always follows the "First, Last" format

Set up next mailbox so that selecting "0" from Directory by Name routes to MB 1 which routes to Direction Table 2 with and internal ring group.

Thanks again brokeda!

Quick follow; directory by name function is working well for outside callers and our inside caller would like to be able to access the directory too.

We have Master Mailbox 4 configured as Directory Mailbox (8005) which is configured as 704.

However this mailbox cannot be dialed directly from keypad (unlike our MB1/700 which is configured as a call routing MB).

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
