We have a 124i switch with a Vangard 22 voicemail.
The keyset function key for voicemail no longer displays when new messages are in the users mailbox.
Does anyone know what would have caused this?

Are you sure the function key is programmed properly? Press the "check" button then the function ley. It should show it to be programmed as a voice mail button and the extension number. Also, is it happening to one extension or several? Could be a lamping issue with the voice mail.

The phone system and voicemail have been running for quite a few years with no issues, the problem started a couple days ago and is consistent on ALL the keysets. I have cycled power on the 124i and have shutdown and re-started the voicemail.
I have never come across this problem and do not know how to determine which component has failed.

I would think it may be the VM may not be in its own class of service and therecieve message waiting is still on.
I bet if you go on to the VM ports (especially the one set to send MWI) you will jear stutter tone. Dial 873 to clear it.

Getting rid of message waiting will temporarily solve the problem if that is the problem. Best bet would be to get a tech in there and change its class of service.

Problem appears to have been solved (COS was incorrect).
Thank you very much to both of you.
