HI all, I have a customer who has an issue where an extn phone in their office is receiving random calls from an unknown source, when the phone is answered they tell me there is no dial which after a few seconds changes to ringing tone. This extn is also setup with call diversion to their main reception phone. I have asked them to record dates and times when this is occurring and it seems to be most days and frequently enough to annoy them (about once every hour)
Is there a way to trace calls on extns? or a call log recorded by the system i could check against date and times
Any help would be appreciated.

In the MC, turn on extension calls in 11.1

Thanks Carl, but i need more information, could you elaborate.
I have MC ver 5.1.17 and can't find any "extn calls"

I have more to the story though, after a quick visit today and a lot more patience with the customer I found extn 823 dialing ICD group 601 (which had the two office numbers affected)and vice versa

I have deleted extn 823 in the meantime to see if the problem disappears (as this extn is not used anymore)

Any more clues???

Yes, upgrade your MC.

Even in the old ones, you ought to have a Maintenance tab. It may be 10 but the Main tab as in 11.1 lists the SMDR options as the first choice.

I have found the SMDR options, can you explain where to go from here?? I am assuming you are leading me to printing a call log??

If you don't have anything plugged into the DB9 port on the CPU card, then I suggest you start with the MANUAL under SMDR.
