I have a customer with a Vodavi STSe KSU 3501-01 and 7 digital stations, which failed with all stations non displaying with no dial tone. The DTIB portion of the motherboard (Slot 0) failed somehow. The KSU initializes fine and I can access programming mode fine with my PC connected to port 1.
I replaced it with an STSe KSU 3501-00.
A year later, that KSU failed with the exact same symptoms. Again, the DTIB portion of the motherboard (Slot 0) failed somehow.
I replaced it with another STSe KSU 3501-00. There is surge protection, but no UPS for brownout protection. The building ground was disconnected from the grounding screw. Both are now corrected.
Does anyone know how to fix the motherboard? Does anyone know what the probable cause of the two identical failures a year apart?

There are no field replaceable parts on the motherboard. Just send it in to Aztec or someone for repair. The exact same failure...cause is well old age most likely. I have had this same thing happen three times. Usually the system is clicking like a bad clock when it does.
