Planning on connecting two IP phone systems with a local cable pair connection and an Ethernet extender product. Am I correct in thinking that if the VoIP systems plug into the extenders, then there is nothing else to do?
On the other hand, if the systems plug into the LAN switch, and LAN switch into the extenders (so that LAN data and VoIP can both be extended to the other site), then I need to create a VLAN for the voice traffic? And the LAN switch has to be configured for QOS?
Thanks for your help. Jim
