Took out old toshiba and installed X16 and Bell lines were cut over to Rogers cable Lines ,, customer says telephones sound hollow when on outside calls ,, is this likely cable company issue or can i adjust the Trunk settings,, i ran out of time to do any test with my butt set on the trunks. Anyone have similar issue? All runs are direct . Thanks

Check it with your butt set, I've never had trouble with call clarity with an X16 on LEC lines.

Does the customer have an old phone or fax with handset? If so they could plug it into the "AUX CO" port or directly into the cable modem and see how it sounds. That port is just is a direct connection to line 1 so if the "hollowness" is still there it's a cable company issue. I'm thinking the hollow sound may be describing a mild echo. MANY, MANY years ago we used to put a modular jack on the backboard for each line and mount a cheap wall phone with a cord so the customer could self test. If it was a telco issue they'd know it and save a service call.


Why do I have to press one for English when they're just going to transfer me to someone I can't understand anyway?
