Another probably dumb question;

I have tried the MoH/BGM on the CIX 40; I'm using a 3.5m to RCA 'y' adapter and when I plugged it into my cell phone and played audio it worked perfectly. Given the location of the CIX, i put in a old computer which would play audio and hooked the 'y' up to that.

I have audio coming out if i use speakers, so I know the PC is sending out the music, but no MoH/BGM at all. Is there something dumb I may be missing?

Naturally, as you can imagine i am not leaving my cell phone there to play MoH all day haha

Also, is there a way to just have a 'beep beep' when calls are on hold? right now it's just dead silence and a few people have thought the call had dropped. That is my main urgency for getting the MoH to work.

Seems if the Y connector works with the phone, and sound card works with the speakers, the Y plug and the Sound card jack is simply not making good or correct contact.

I'll double check the connections, but I'm pretty sure they are all good and solid.

I'll reconfirm all of the connections and retest with my cell phone.

Got it working after. The connections were all good, but it turned out that the sound card had multiple different virtual outputs.

The 'sound properties' was set to output on a different 'type' then what the CIX/Y cable supported.

Changed that over and now working perfectly. Onto the next stage!
