Thanks for the info.
I see Samsung has closed its OfficeServ section @ https://www.samsungbusiness.com/business/pages/content/officeserv2.aspx is there any better site available?

Is the update freely available or only for certified techs? I see this is pretty complicated system and everything is done by techs not end users..

Also when I connect "OfficeServ installation tool" to my Officeservs' IP, then it instantly asks for password so I can't update it.

I have successfully resetted password on the Officeserv 7100 system, but sadly only way to do it is only how Samsung Expert TeddyB tells you.

For all future enthusiast:
Resetting system, neither switching to new OS files on Memory Card will reset the admin password, it will just update OS and password will remain the same. Former owner has probably changed the password to something sicko (like %%!IAmC00l0P_666) because OfficeServ Device Manager requires it to be changed first thing when you log in.

For all future owners of this cheap system:
It is too complicated for easy small-scale usage. Don't buy it from an auction for 150$ with 8 phones and all modules (like 2BRM/4DLM/4SLM) fitted. You expect something easy for money like this (150$), but this 2006 year 10000$ system is not it.

So in other words you would prefer something where changing the main admin password was easy as can be.Sorry but this is a business world product and if I was buying one I would prefer that not everyone off the internet could spend 2 minutes learning how to hack my system.

I have to agree with PVJ. The phone business is a very competitive market when it comes to service and maintaining. If we do not customize passwords for our sake of business, then we can lose the business to someone else.

As for the password resets, if you do the defaulting correctly and/or upgrade the phone system's software, yes the passwords will default. Have done this myself plenty of times. The IP address doesn't change but everything else does.

If you think that the officeserv is a cheap or not business enough system, then I don't know what to tell you. Honestly it's one of the better and easier ones to work with in my opinion.

Not to mention he got a 7100 with an MP10a and 8 phones for $150. Pretty good deal if you ask me.

Personally, I change them because it's good security practice not to leave electronic equipment passwords as default.

You know.. that guy.. with the thing.
