is there away to use a 107a as a monitor with a modern pots phone system?

I would like to power it with a 9v dc? I have read that is possible but don't know how. Can I simply connect the black and yellow to the 9v and then the red and green to the pots two line? is the pots two line the tip and ring?

could i do the same with a 18v ac instead of the 9vdc?

Assuming I connected a 18v ac to the black and yellow, could i connect the red/green to the POTS red/green or could I only do that with the handset wires?

thanks

The 107 type speaker ("Spokesman®") is designed to monitor the receiver leads of the handset. If the phone you are using will allow you to get inside and access the handset leads, then that is the way to do it. yes, you can power it from a 9-volt battery, but you will not get much time out of the battery. 18 Volts AC is the best way, applied to the yellow and black leads. Lower voltages will work, too.
