Got a customer with a KXTD1232 and a TVS225 voicemail. Since they are over an hour away the customer wants me to set up his systems so I can make changes remotely. I have never connected a modem to these systems before so I had another plan. I made RS232 cables for the systems and purchased an A/B switch. I connected it all to a PC and planned on using TeamViewer to program remotely. Obviously the software needs to be installed on that computer. However, my Teamviewer trial ended....I didnt realize it was a pay site. So my questions are as follows...

1 - Is it even possible to set him up like this and use an app like Teamviewer to program remotely ?

2 - Are there other apps or programs, like Teamviewer, that are free or low cost ?

3 - Will a modem even work anymore ?

Thanks in advance !!

Forget about a modem. If it works will take all day. Just do a remote session on customer computer.

Get yourself two serial connections and a PC, then try Remote Access software. It needs a network connection and Port forwarding on the router, but you'll like the price.

Come back and write a review and tell us if you think it's annoyingly slow on the screen paint.

I use nch software in some cases. The freaky part is you can use a smart phone to get to your computer, but the 5" screen isn't conducive to doing much with it.
