Looking this up for a job tomorrow, I know I can disable the recording "beep", but does the "recording" message get disabled also when I do this?

Disabling the recording beep will not disable recording the message.
The option to enable or disable the recording beep is because in some states its the law that both parties on the call know they are being recorded.

Yes, disabling the beep also disables the "recording" message.
